Skyward Sword is excellent
but that doesn’t mean it’s perfect.
It was by far a lot better than the previous Zelda’s since they cut off the excess and made the game more streamlined. Of course, this is my own opinion and at any rate, I enjoyed SS a lot.
I did, however, have a few bad points to say about it. I absolutely adored Fi, even in the beginning but the Captain Obvious was a bit irksome but it soon became a trifling matter since I learned to tune her out (I was more preoccupied with looking at the scenery instead of listening to Fi, honestly). However, a lot of the mythology in Skyward Sword puts a wrench in a lot of things but considering that this game was just lodged at the very beginning it gets a little bit of slack for not fitting perfectly.
A couple questions that I have about Skyward Sword is generally referring to locations and specific characters. Such as what happens to the dragons? They clearly aren’t seen in any of the later games that they have released right now and Lanayru mentioned that he had eternal life (even if he did die from sickness… which makes the claim rather questionable). Also with the Parella, who I assume later either become extinct or gradually become the Zora, I question if they moved out of their cave later and out into the area where the waterfall in front of the Ancient Cistern is. Although, considering that Zora’s Domain in OOT is in a cave although substantially larger, it’s possible that the water level began to lower as they carved that staircase and the flow of water that originally poured Link into Faron’s Shrine later became the waterfall in Zora’s Domain etc. but there isn’t any confirmation so this is just musing on my part.
There are many, so many things that need to be mulled over and thought through in this game because it didn’t tie up ends as much as it created more! At any rate, it was kind of to be expected since Zelda games don’t go as way way way in-depth as some other games.
I’ll be hopefully gradually replaying it and making notes and musings when possible.
